Executive bio

  

Julie Fry is a Strategic Operations Executive who helps companies not only retain and increase their revenue but also finds innovative cost savings solutions and operational efficiencies. After spending over 15 years in a variety of leadership positions in multiple industries, Julie knows how to effectively manage operations and deliver actionable results. Julie’s dedication to building high performing teams has enabled her to consistently ensure continuous improvement and shape business operations utilizing her strategic and transformational skills. 


Julie’s greatest gifts are her strategic vision and ability to design and implement large-scale process improvements. Julie’s knowledge and experience provides her with an exceptional understanding of business drivers, an exceptional ability to advance program management offices, and a belief that the best solutions are those that are both simple and powerful. She has built her career around enhancing operations by forging solid relationships with vendors, internal teams, and external partners.


Julie is both personable and highly skilled with a record of accomplishments spanning across a diverse range of projects and environments; she can isolate and solve long-term issues while overseeing global enterprise-wide initiatives. 


Select achievements of Julie’s include the following: 

  • Organized and ran development team meetings to map out entire back office systems and tools leading to understanding around SOX requirements for each and shut down or merge decisions where duplicates were found.
  • Utilized product management skills by designing new process in Salesforce to ensure voice of customer was being considered, cost assessments could be analyzed, and new features assessed to determine new market share.
  • Developed new organizational process for a systems and tools catalog across PGI and all acquisitions to track, merge, or remove resulting in the organization of over 500 separate systems.
  • Initiated and created ROI calculation system on all product offerings leading to fact-based decisions on whether to continue products or not.
  • Developed and led new project tracking database utilizing Hyperion developers ensuring key executives could quickly see the status in monthly meeting cadence.
  • Championed efforts to analyze and compile all technology-based spend across 20+ product categories to support closing of $1B acquisition of Siris with PGi.
  • Led education and conversion of Waterfall project teams to Agile utilizing newly certified Scrum Masters, Scrum Product Owners, & Agile methodology; obtained buy-in from Head of Engineering and Product for new KPI’s and bi-weekly reporting process. 
  • Owned $8M+ cloud budget (mostly AWS spend) and the program development & management around it leading to increased checks & balances on action plans and reduced silos across organizations; became first ever certified FinOps Practitioner and championed the principles with the CTO & CFO, creating a better sense of understanding and trust on cloud practices, purchases, and forecasting between the two organizations.
  • Identified over $25M in savings from R&D, Corporate IT, and Network Ops run rates.
  • Oversaw efforts to revamp PGI from multiple, varying policies across the globe to one uniform BYOD policy reducing the yearly run rate from $1M to $500k.
  • Spearheaded team charged with delivering complex infrastructure of servers which led to successfully improving data quality across over 130 credit systems.
  • Governed cross-organizational team responsible for ensuring global commercial and investment bankers for three lines of business in Merrill Lynch were compatible with Bank of America network. 


In addition to the Bachelor of Science and MBA from Georgia Institute of Technology that Julie holds, she also has many certifications including her PMP (Project Management Professional), CSM (Certified Scrum Master), CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner), SS (Six Sigma Green Belt), PM-III (Product Management), and FinOps Practitioner (Cloud & Financial Management).  


Julie was also the recipient of one Gold Recognition Reward and two Silver Recognition Rewards from Bank of America. Finally, Julie participates in the Women in Technology Group, Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business Diversity & Inclusion panels, Georgia Tech Women Alumni Network, FinOps Foundation as a trainer and charter member, and has also volunteered at Open Hand.
